Testosterone Pellet Therapy for Women

Testosterone Pellet Therapy is a hormone replacement therapy for women. It is shown to be effective against menstrual symptoms, migraines, low libido, low energy, and general anxiety.

The testosterone pellets for females are the size of a grain and are implanted by our doctors under the skin. These pellets consist of crystallized testosterone which delivers this hormone in a steady low dose for up to six months at a time.

How Does Testosterone Pellet Therapy Help Women?

The use of testosterone pellets for women helps in relieving menstrual headaches or migraines. It improves PMS symptoms, increases energy, improves restorative sleep and libido drive, as well as reduces depression and anxiety. Subdermal testosterone has been used frequently in pre-menopausal women. Pellets are superior to topical and oral hormone therapy in terms of providing relief for menopausal symptoms.

Quick Facts

  • Hormone Pellet Therapy has been successfully used in Australia, Europe, and the United States since 1938 and was found to have superior effects compared to the other methods of hormone therapy.
  • Pellets help in delivering a consistent and physiologic level of hormone while avoiding hormone level fluctuations as seen in other delivery methods.
  • Estrogen that is delivered by subcutaneous implants helps in maintaining the normal estradiol and estrone ratio.
  • Testosterone that is delivered through subcutaneous pellet implants is cardiac protective, unlike synthetic and oral methyl-testosterone.

Our Approach

  • Our healthcare professionals consider factors such as the Body Mass Index (BMI) and the hormone level, and work on providing appropriate hormone doses accordingly.
  • In order to insert hormone pellets, the healthcare professional would numb the skin, and create a small incision, usually at the hip area. The required amount of hormone pellets would then be inserted underneath the skin.
  • The incision would be closed through a stitch or Steri-strips, or both. The patient would be required to follow the instructions of the healthcare professional after the procedure.
  • Patients having Steri-strips might be able to remove them within five to seven days. The pellets would help in providing a constant hormone supply for at least three months.
